Welcome to the Sunday School page

Eastminster offers Sunday School opportunities for everyone from children to adults.   Sunday School classes run roughly concurrent with the secular school year.  Classes begin at 9:30am (right after the 1st service) and are held in both the Christian Education Wing and the Haines Administration Center.

Mission Projects

Helping Hands Cards-  Each Thanksgiving and Easter, the Mission Committee at Eastminster distributes boxes of food to the needy.  Cards colored and decorated by the children in Sunday School are a personalized addition.

Joy Offering-  During Advent, children have participated in our Joy Offering for Presbyterian seminary students and faithful servants who need particular medical aid.

Christmas Nativity Figurines

The purpose of the Figurine program is for each child to receive a Christmas present from Eastminster.

Each year every child in an Eastminster's Sunday School receives a nativity figurine.  By the time a child is in eighth grade, their nativity set could be complete.  Finished sets are displayed in classrooms during Advent.

Adult Sunday School

Adults can join the Wired Word class or a Bible Study class.   The Bible Study class takes one book at a time and spends many weeks digging into, considering and digesting the text.   Wired Word focuses on current events and how our faith applies to it.

Youth

Worship

Each Sunday School hour begins with a short Children's Worship Service before adjurning to regular classes.  This is a time of singing, fellowship, learning and Praising God.

Confirmation Class

Eastminster Church offers Confirmation Class to all youth who are in 8th grade or high school.  One of the goals of confirmation is to answer the questions about what it means to join the church so each youth can make an informed decision.  Small group discussions, attending worship together and classroom work may all be part of the path a youth may take through Confirmation.

The classes are very interactive and supportive of each youth who participates.  While teaching the core information about the Presbyterian Church, the program is designed to adjust to each class’s unique questions about faith and spirituality.

Jr. High and Sr. High

7th & 8th Grade classes as well as Sr. High classes meet on the 2nd Floor Christian of the Education Wing.
